Don't Blink! 3D Bow tutorial

Step 1: You can stitch out the first stitch, if you need to, on your hooped stabilizer. This is just a placement stitch that lets you know where everything goes.
Step 2: Lay, or float, a piece of light grey felt over the hooped stabilizer.

Step 3: This design is pretty easy color wise. You can follow the prompts for color changes between black and dark gray, or you can just use black for the whole thing like I did here. Stitch out all of the design steps and stop before the last step that tacks down the backing piece of felt.

Step 4: Lay, or float, a piece of light gray felt onto the back of the hooped stabilizer and replace your hoop in your machine. Be careful that this doesn't move when replacing your hoop! If you are having trouble you can try pinning the corners or using sew-able fabric adhesive spray.

Step 5: Stitch out the remaining steps to tack the back piece of felt to your stabilizer and cut all of the little extra jump threads.

Step 6: Cut out the design. Some of my designs have tiny spaces to cut out and close angles so get yourself a good pair of detail scissors! Pro tip: start warming up your hot glue gun now if it isn't already warm!

Step 7: Take the piece that looks like a figure 8 and use your hot glue to glue the two pointy end pieces to the back of the piece to make it look like the loops of a bow.
Step 8: Glue the main bow piece to the bow back. In this design the bow back is the wings piece.

Step 9: Glue the rectangle piece, or the bow center, around the middle and the back piece. If this was a more basic design your construction would be done, but since this is more complicated we have a few more steps to complete.
Step 10: Glue the face onto the bow center piece.

Step 11: Use your finger to open up the loos on the main bow piece a little. You are going to be gluing the top of the arms INSIDE the loops of the main bow. This step can be a little tricky. You want to have the arms glued so that they cover the face when they are resting.

Done!! Glue a pin, magnet, or hair clip to the back and you are ready to enjoy your new creation!
